Energy and Networks

On the 1st of July 2004 a new era for the Dutch energy market commenced with the liberalisation of the gas and electricity market. Hence, from that date onwards, every customer was able to choose his or her own supplier for gas and electricity. Competition between energy suppliers broke loose. The position of the consumer strengthened which consequently forced suppliers to deliver service and quality against a very competitive price. It also led to the development of new products and services to gain and preserve clients.

Market research occupies an essential role within the process of recruiting en preserving customers. In order to recruit and preserve customers it is essential to know which conditions. ADV Market Research responds to questions like: What do clients expect of their energy supplier? Which offers are profitable? In which way can potential clients be approached best? Which factors determine client loyalty?

To respond to the large amount of questions from the energy branche, the Business Unit “Energy en Netten” (Energy and Networks) conducts several researches:

  • Lose Switch: Which clients leave? Why? Who is their new supplier?
  • Win Switch: Who becomes a client? Why? Who was their previous supplier?
